Run an introduction round
Create a round, check who will be introduced before anything is sent, run it, and follow how the introductions are going.
Updated October 10, 2026
A round introduces your members to each other in pairs. Each person gets a private invitation for coffee with one other person, and both of them have to say yes before anything is scheduled.
Introductions start once at least two members are active and verified. Until then, your rounds page tells you so.
Create a round
- 01Open Coffee rounds and select "Create round".
- 02Give it a name people will recognize, like "June all-hands coffee".
- 03Choose who it covers: "Whole community", "One group", "Cross-group", or "This event". For one group or an event, pick which.
- 04Select "Create round". It's saved as a draft, so nothing is sent yet.
Run it
- 01Find your draft in the list and select "Run round".
- 02Read the confirmation. It tells you how many people will be introduced, in how many pairs, and how many sit this one out.
- 03If it looks right, select the button to send the introductions. If not, cancel and nothing goes out.
What your members get
Each person gets a private invitation by email and in the app, from your community. It uses first names only, says who they're paired with, and asks them to pick a time. The other person confirms it.
Who is left out, and why
- Members who paused their introductions.
- Members who chose a slower rhythm and aren't due yet. They'll be in a later round.
- Two people who have already been introduced. We never introduce the same pair twice.
- Anyone left without a partner, usually because of an odd number.
Follow how it's going
Open a round to see "How it's going": who was paired, who said yes, who booked a time, and who met. While a round is active you can nudge pairs who haven't replied yet, or close the round. Closing it doesn't take anything back: anyone still holding an invitation can still pick a time.
Select "Edit" to change a draft or delete it. Once a round has run, you can still rename it.
