Host an event with QR join

Create an event, print a QR poster so guests can join without an account, and introduce people to each other during the breaks.

Updated October 10, 2026

At an event, people scan a QR code, join in under a minute without an account, and get introduced to someone worth meeting at the next break.

Create the event

  1. 01Open Events and select "Create event".
  2. 02Give it a name. Date, location, and purpose are optional, but the date and place help guests.
  3. 03Open the event you just made.

Make the QR code

  1. 01In "Public join", select "Create public join link".
  2. 02You now have a link, a "Copy" button, and a QR code. Select "Print / share poster".
  3. 03On the poster page, choose "Print", "Download QR (PNG)" for slides or signs, or "Share link".

Expecting a known guest list? Use "Upload roster" to pre-load attendees, so people find themselves on the list when they join.

What guests see

Scanning the code opens a short form: their name, an optional work email, and up to three interests. They select "Join the event" and see "You're in!". No app and no account. Their page stays open and updates on its own, so they can keep it handy.

Introduce people at the break

  1. 01Open the event and find "Make matches".
  2. 02Select "Run a break round" when people are ready to talk. It pairs everyone who's checked in into one-to-one introductions, and skips anyone who has already met.
  3. 03If there's an odd number, the page tells you how many people are waiting for a partner. Run another round at the next break.

Each guest's page then shows who they should meet, why, and a few conversation starters.

After the event

Guests can keep the people they met by claiming a profile from their event page. It's their choice, and nothing happens if they don't.
