Join your community

You join a community when its host invites you. There are a few ways that invitation can reach you. They all end in the same place.

Choose your way in

• An email invitation: open it and select "Accept & join".
• A join link or a QR code from your host: open it and select "Join". If your hosts look at each request first, the button says "Ask to join" instead.
• A code: go to Get started, choose "I'm joining", type or paste your code, and select "Join".

Sign in

There's no password. Choose "Continue with Google", "Continue with Microsoft", or "Continue with Slack". Or type your email and select "Send link": we email you a sign-in link and a 6-digit code, and you can use either one. Your first sign-in creates your account.

If you're accepting an email invitation, sign in with the address it was sent to. If you're signed in with a different one, the page tells you, and "Use a different account" lets you switch.

Set up your profile

1. 01"First, the basics": your full name is the only thing we need. Your email comes from your sign-in.
2. 02"What are you into?": your interests, what you're looking for, what you can help with, and your languages. All optional, and you can choose "Skip for now".
3. 03"A few finishing touches": a photo and something people could ask you about over coffee. Also optional.
4. 04Select "Complete". You land on your home page while we look for someone you'll be glad to meet.

If something doesn't work

• An email invitation lasts 14 days unless your host chose another length. If yours has expired, ask the person who invited you to send a new one.
• A join link can expire, be switched off, reach its limit, or only work for certain email domains. The page tells you which, so you know what to ask your host.
• If you asked to join, your request is with the hosts. When someone says yes, we email you an invitation.
