Meet someone you might never have met otherwise.
Coffeehouse is an open space for thoughtful introductions and good conversation, one coffee at a time. No community to join first, no invitation to wait for.
You choose when to take part. We make the introductions. You're always in control.
One person, thoughtfully chosen
Why we thought of you both
- You're both new to the neighborhood
- A shared soft spot for secondhand bookshops
- You're both free on quiet weekday mornings
Open to saying hello? If you both are, we'll help you pick a time and place.
You shouldn't need a network to begin
People join something new and hit an empty room. Create a group, invite your friends, wait for someone you know to arrive. Coffeehouse offers another way to start: you're ready to meet one new person and have one good conversation, so we help that happen.
- You join, and there's nothing to do yet
- You're told to create a group or invite friends
- The good part waits until someone you know shows up
- You can begin on your very first visit
- You tell us what kind of connection you're open to
- A thoughtful introduction finds its way to you
- The place feels alive from the start
One thoughtful introduction at a time
Four steps, and then a real conversation. Nothing to scroll, nobody to swipe past.
- 01
Tell us a little about yourself
Your interests, when you're free, how far you'd travel, and the kinds of conversations you enjoy. A few minutes, no résumé.
- 02
Receive a thoughtful introduction
We look for shared interests, a fresh perspective, mutual intent, and whether meeting is actually practical for you both.
- 03
Choose how to meet
Coffee, a walk, or a video call. You both pick a setting that feels comfortable before anything is set.
- 04
Continue only when it feels right
There's no obligation to meet again. One good conversation is worth having on its own.
There are plenty of reasons to meet someone new
You don't need a perfect one. Any of these is reason enough to begin.
- Meet people outside your usual circles
- Make a new friend in your city
- Trade ideas with someone from a different field
- Rebuild a social life after a move
- Talk without any dating pressure
- Hear a perspective you'd never bump into otherwise
New people, thoughtfully introduced
Safety and respect aren't a footnote here. They shape how introductions work, what we show, and how easily you can step back.
Both people say yes
No one is introduced unless you're both open to it. An introduction is an offer, never an assignment.
You set your own pace
Choose how often you'd like to hear from us, and pause the moment life gets busy. Nothing happens while you're paused.
Discoverable only when you say so
You're invisible to the matcher until you opt in. Being in the Coffeehouse is not the same as being on a list.
No public browsing
The Coffeehouse is not a directory of faces to scroll. People aren't a catalogue, and you aren't one either.
Only what an introduction needs
We share the interests and context behind why you were matched, not your inbox or your address.
Easy to step back
Decline any introduction without a reason, take a break, or leave. You stay in control at every step.
Read our privacy promise and approach to security.
Meeting someone new should feel exciting, not transactional
The small touches matter, from the way an introduction lands to the prompts that help you both get talking. We're not here to maximize matches. We're here to help one good conversation happen.
- An introduction that arrives like a warm note, not a notification
- A quiet, happy confirmation when you both say yes
- Conversation starters chosen from what you have in common
- A gentle nudge before you meet, and a kind check-in after
- An easy, no-guilt way to say “not this time”
Not sure what to talk about?
Good conversations start with curiosity, not clever questions. When you'd like a little help, the Coffee Companion in our Relationship Academy has gentle prompts and tips for meeting someone new.
Sometimes one conversation is enough to change your week
These are examples of how a first introduction can go, not real member stories. Not every coffee becomes a lasting friendship, and one good hour is still worth it.
A first friendly face
Two months into a new city and knowing almost no one, Priya meets someone a few streets over who reads the same novels and knows the good quiet cafés.
One low-pressure hour
After a few quiet years, Sam joins for a single unhurried conversation. Nothing dramatic, just the start of feeling a bit more part of things again.
One platform, different ways to belong
Coffeehouse widens the front door. It sits alongside communities and events, for the moment you don't yet have either.
Meet within a shared group
People already connected by an interest, a place, a school, or an organization find each other inside it.
Meet around a shared moment
A conference, an orientation, a meetup: the room introduces itself before everyone drifts home as strangers.
Meet someone new, group or not
No community to join first and no invitation to wait for. You're here, and that's enough to begin.
Before you step in
Is the Coffeehouse a dating service?
No. It's built for friendship, good conversation, curiosity, and feeling more connected to the people around you. It isn't positioned as a dating product.
Is this professional networking?
Not really. People often talk about their work, but the Coffeehouse isn't built around leads, sales, recruiting, or trading favors.
Can I choose who I meet?
You shape who you're likely to meet through your interests, availability, and location preferences. It isn't a catalog you browse and pick from. We prepare one introduction at a time, and you can choose to meet over coffee, a walk, or a video call.
Can other people browse my profile?
No. The Coffeehouse is not a public directory. You're only visible to the matcher after you opt in, and even then people don't scroll a list of members.
What if I don't want an introduction, or one feels off?
You can decline any introduction, or pause them entirely, with no explanation. Nothing reaches you while you're paused, and you can return whenever you like. If something ever feels off, end it and reach us through the contact page.
Is the Coffeehouse available everywhere?
It's open to join today. Because introductions depend on other members nearby who are open to meeting, how quickly you're matched can vary from place to place while the Coffeehouse grows.
Someone worth knowing may be one coffee away
You don't need a big network, a formal invitation, or a perfect reason. You only need to be open to meeting one new person.
No swiping. No public browsing. No pressure.
